In Urdu poetry, Ghalib's name is taken very Admirably. Mr. Ghalib was a well-known expert in Urdu and Persian language.
He was born to Mirza Abdullah Baig Khan in Agra. In the early days, he was known as Mirza Asadullah Baig Khan. In his compositions, he has named Ghalib and Assad. He wrote poetry in both Urdu and Parsi language. In Parsi, he has written more than Urdu, but he is more famous by poetry written in Urdu.
Shayari came into his life when he came to Delhi after marriage. He was contemporary to the last ruler of Mughal dynasty - Bahadur Shah Zafar. In 1850, Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar bestowed upon Mirza Ghalib the title of "Dabir-ul-Mulk". The Emperor also added to it the additional title of "Najm-ud-daula".
