Dharamvir Bharati was a Hindi writer, poet and author of India. He was born on December 25 1926 in Allahabad , Uttar Pradesh. His mother was Chanda Devi and father was Chiranji Lal. Dharamvir Bharati was the sub-editor for magazines Abhyudaya and Sangam . He was the Chief-Editor of the popular Hindi weekly magazine Dharmayug

 Dharamvir Bharati was honored by Padma Shree (1972) , National Film Award (1992) and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (1988).

He died on September 4 1997 in Bombay by heart disease.
